Grassroots Farmers is in service to the land, animals and our surrounding communities.
Grassroots Farmers is a service of the nonprofit GrowWise.
Who’s your farmer?
It all starts with a drip of water. Aid our farmers through your generosity of giving. Our long term vision is a collective of farmers and farm organizations cultivating the next generation of growers. We are in start up phases and finalizing a land lease to expand our farm operations. Ideally, we are looking for a more permanent home to build Adobe - earthship - seasonal farm mentor living quarters, host farm retreats and educational classes out on the farm!
We are a community focused farming with no till and better than organic practices linked with farm education, everything from saving seeds to homeopathic animal husbandry.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between farmers and their communities through backyard farm installations, on-site education, local CSA program (Community Supported Agriculture) and lawn conversations into native indigenous perennial meadow plants.
The chicken tractor has become home to our six laying ducks. Duck eggs available coming this 2024 fall. The rabbit hatchery is growing too!
Your contributions today will cover our land lease, water rights, feed livestock, buy local seed, seedlings, tools for our community farmers and start an orchard!
As we begin to sprout we need your assistance in gathering tools and supplies to store on-site for visitors to use during our programs. Please consider donating any spare tools you or your farm is not using such as not limited to:
Wheelbarrows, Shovels, Rakes, gloves etc.
Organic Amendments, animal waste etc.
Plants, trees, bushes
Irrigation/greenhouse supplies
Anything farm related like old reemay or drip tape!
